Gabriela is currently a clinical psychology doctoral student at Loma Linda University's School of Behavioral Health. Her research interests include increasing equity of access and availability of community mental health resources and the role of resiliency following the experience of trauma. Her clinical experience includes providing individual therapy in a variety of community mental health, college, and outpatient psychiatry settings. She also currently co-facilitates a DBT skills group for at-risk high school students at one of the Care Lab’s community partners.
Her research project focuses on shelter staff’s perceptions of high-income individuals help-seeking patterns, with particular emphasis on their use of domestic violence emergency shelter services.
